Q: What’s the difference between the indirect fired, direct fired, makeup air and electric heaters? How do I know which one is right for me?
A: There are several options here; one will be if the heater is going to be used indoors or outdoors, and another factor to consider is the type of fuel source you want to use (propane, natural gas or diesel.) Ohio CAT can help you determine which type of heater is best for your application.
Q: What’s the best way to calculate how many heaters I will need?
A: Ohio Cat can calculate your heating requirements once we know how much overall space you are planning to heat. (Square footage and/or cubic footage).

A: Yes, we will provide discount pricing for multiple heater rentals.
Q: What is a Make-up Air heater? When should it be used?
A: Make-up Air Heaters are essentially a direct-fired heater enclosed in a box – these heaters are great for manufacturing facilities that would like to have a higher amount of heat without having employees & facility exposed to direct flames, & new construction sites that need to keep moisture out from the interior finishes.
Q: What is the difference between a Direct Fired and Indirect Fired heater?
A: An indirect fired heater is a flameless heater fueled with natural gas or propane that provides clean air without the expense of an electric heater. They are ideal for office spaces and manufacturing facilities, or a wood-framed construction site.
A direct fired heater is an open-flame heater which is ideal for open-air heating on outdoor job/construction sites. They are ideal for tempered air in industrial environments that require frequent air changes.
Q: I’m not sure what type of heater I need. How do I determine which one I should use?
A: Contact Ohio CAT and we will walk you through the entire process from start to finish. A few things to consider: Are there any air requirements? What type of fuel is most readily available, if any (propane, natural gas, electric, diesel)? What is the logistic footprint?
