Cat Inspect App Forced Update (03/29/22)

A forced Cat Inspect mobile app upgrade is planned for March 29, 2022.

IMPORTANT: Prior to updating Cat Inspect and to prevent any data loss, we recommend that users complete and submit all In-Progress inspections. Do not uninstall Cat Inspect if you still have In-Progress inspections as this will clear your account.

Caterpillar Enterprise is going through a transition of our authentication system and is requiring an upgrade within all of its applications. As a result of this change, previous versions of the Cat Inspect mobile app (on the old authentication system) will no longer be supported. After the new version is released on March 29, all users will be required to upgrade to this version that supports the new authentication process. Multiple reminder notifications will be sent to users leading up to this change and there is no action to be taken until March 29th.

New Features & Enhancements

Cat Inspect Mobile (March 29, 2022)

  1. SITE type inspection workflow updated.
    The inspection summary view titles have been updated to be more explicit when users are conducting an Equipment inspection or a Site type inspection. Previously, the title for a Site inspection was displayed as “Customer & Asset Info” even though there are no asset related fields in a site inspection.

Cat Inspect Web (March 29, 2022)

  1. Dealer Website Assessment form cannot be downloaded, modified for cloned.
    Certain types for forms in Cat Inspect, like the Dealer Website Assessment form, cannot be edited by users so we have removed the ability to modify, clone or download these types of forms.
  2. Manage forms page now correctly shows “Created by.”
  3. Account Types for Caterpillar users have been disabled.
    Caterpillar users who need elevated permission within Cat Inspect are required to get access through Identify IQ.
